Friendly Faces ♥

Hello lovely people!

Today I have a slightly unusual post for you, but hopefully you will enjoy this as much as I hoped. I am a student and as you know many students have a budget to stick to. I asked a few girls in my class what makeup they use and if they would bring in some stuff for me to have a look at. I am always on the lookout for new makeup and figured someone else might find some good products I have yet to see! I also thought it would be a good opportunity to my student readers or people on a budget to see what products are price friendly!
All of the girls items I have featured in this post have different skin types and styles, so I reckon this is a good opportunity to see if there's products I would like to try or splurge on!

Starting off with the lovely Elijah's make-up:

Elijah brought in these two products that she uses everyday for her foundation and concealer routine. They both have light reflecting power and are designed to give a healthy glow. The Wake Me Up concealer is something I am going to purchase on my next visit to Boots or Superdrug. Elijah having quite pale skin like myself really suits these two products and they sit well on her skin.

Misha brought in these products, one of which I already own. I have the little eyebrow and lash brush on the end which I recieved in a W7 kit for your eyebrows. Misha doesnt wear alot of makeup and like Elijah uses the Rimmel brand for foundation and by chance had the same mascara which is also Rimmel Extra Super Lash! The girls lashes always look lovely and clump free so I may give this mascara a try out! I think this retails for around £5 so if your on a budget this is definetly a must have!

Fay also brought in her makeup and made me very jealous by bringing in her Real Techniques brushes! I know these brushes aren't particularly money friendly but they are definitely a must have for any beauty enthusiast!
Fay has quite a few natural collection products and was telling me that they suit her skin type best. The Natural Collection is definitely budget friendly and have a great selection of products. Fay also had a liquid pen lip-gloss by Ted Baker (Available in Boots) that was similar to the ELF hyper shine lip gloss which is amazing!

Last but not least lovely Meghan's makeup! Meghan has a few more expensive items in her makeup that aren't budget friendly but are lovely anyway! I haven't seen a MAC lipglass in the shade I like so far, but the one pictured that Meghan brought in is a natural colour and suits her really well. I also would love too purchase the Speak Louder lipstick that she owns! Its a daring pink but looks lovely with Meghan's brown hair. Another product that caught my eye in Meghan's collection was the lovely blue nail polish! I have never worn a bright blue nail, since my H & M polish (Blue my mind). This is "Loafer Love For You" by Rimmel, at £2/3 I think this nail polish is a bargain and a beautiful shade!

As you can see by my research the girls have proved that Rimmel is a popular product amongst them all! I think I will be making a visit to my local Boots store and picking up a few of these beautys!

Before I go I am also going to include a little splurge make-up collection from Lee who also is in my college class! Her makeup is always beautiful and looks nice and natural. Lee uses the products below on a daily basis. Her favourite is the Chanel eyeliner which if I have the money i I would love to try as it looks so nice! All of her products are definitely things I'd love to own!

L to R: Lancôme lipgloss (gorgeous red shade), Cream eye shaper- Clinique, Automatic Liquid Eyeliner from Chanel in Black, Chanel Eyebrow Shaper, Lancôme Hypnose Mascara, Clinique BB Cream, Powder Pallette from Clinique and Clinique Eyeshadow Pallette.

Thanks for reading :) x

*Thankyou to all the girls featured for letting me see your makeup and allowing me to do this post, your all wonderful!*

My Autumn/Winter Essentials ♡

My ultimate must have products!
Garnier Cleanser, Simple Light Moisturizer, Leave in Conditioner by Aussie, Babylips lipbalm and Palmers Concentrated Cream.

Hi guys, today I am going to tell you about products that I think are essential for the coming seasons! The products pictured above help me keep my skin and hair healthy during the autumn/winter months. Garnier Fresh Essentials Refreshing Cleansing lotion is my go to cleanser for this season. I use the normal to combination skin formula with grape extract. It has a fresh natural scent and is safe to use on your eyes also. This product takes my makeup off effortlessly and leaves me feeling refreshed at the same time. This products perfect for people with sensitive skin, it's gentle and isn't harsh on your skin.

My moisturiser that I have been loving in colder weather is the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturizer. This moisturizer is perfect for my combination/oily skin as it isn't too heavy whilst providing moisture to your skin. I normally mix a tiny amount of this moisturizer with my foundation during the colder months, instead of just applying it directly to my skin before makeup. The non greasy feel is the biggest plus for me as I feel that products that leave your skin feeling greasy make my oily skin worse and genuinely aren't pleasant. For moisturizing my hands during winter months, my quick fix product is the Palmer's Concentrated Cream for Dry Skin. This product comes in the Cocoa Butter scent and a fragrance free tube. This product is a heavy duty moisturizer with saves those no gloves disasters on a harsh winter day. Its also good for those with generally dry skin around their hands and arms.

My hair is very thick and of medium length, so during the colder months I make sure I take extra care of it. In my previous post about Aussie haircare I talked about their Miracle Moist shampoo. I use this shampoo paired with the Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-in Conditioner pictured above. Again I absolutely love this scent, its bubblegum like smell is an ultimate selling point for me. This conditioner is in a spray bottle and is applied before you blow dry your hair. This product has saved my hair after numerous hair-dyes and heat damage. I recommend this product to anyone with dry or distressed hair, I am in love!

Last but no means least, I have my Maybelline Baby Lips in Hydrate. Every girl needs a lip balm in winter to prevent those un-kissable chapped lips! I have recently been loving the Hydrate lip balm as it keeps my lips soft and provides them with that much needed moisture. You can check out my post on the rest of the Babylips products to see which suits you.

Nifty Nails!

Hey lovelys!

Just posting a blog post to let you know what I think of the Sinful Colours nail polish. This product came to the UK this year, showing its collection in boots! I have went a little crazy and bought at least 7 or 8 the last few months. My favourites have to be 24/7, Nirvana, Be Happy, Winterberry and Pistache.
The nail brush in these bottles is slightly large and makes application quick and easy. Depending on the shade and the finish of the polish you may need one than more coat. The colours containing no shimmer or glitter tend to only need one coat and an occasional top coat in my opinion!
I love these nail polishes and recommend anyone to go out and buy yourself some from your local Boots store! At £1.99 for these polishes, they don't disappoint!

If general vibrant colours aren't your scene, this brand offer such a range of choice you won't be stuck! Pastels, neutrals and glitters are some of my favourites although I am keen on the occasional bright nail to add a pop of colour!

What colours do you choose? x

Super Skin Savers!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Daily Scrub & Visibly Clear 2-in-1 wash & mask £3.99 each at Superdrug

Today I thought I'd give you all a little post on the skincare items I have been loving recently. Both of these products are from Neutrogena and come in the "squeezy" cap tubes. The green scrub you see here, is perfect for your morning facial wash or just to give your skin a deep clean. This scrub contains microbeads which help exfoliate your skin. This is perfect for my skin type as I have quite oily skin which can sometimes be prone to breakouts. The method of application for this scrub is quick and easy, which is perfect if you are in a rush in the morning.

The second product I have pictured above is the Neutrogena 2 in 1 Facial Wash and Mask. I purchased this product after seeing Sammi aka BeautyCrush talk about it in her videos. This wash is easy to apply and excellent as it doubles as a face mask. This product for me definitely feels as if its working immediately after application. It has an almost fresh cucumber scent with a hint of slight chemicals. This product for me is great if you want a facemask that will not only relax you but help your skin if you have breakouts.

I recommend both these products to people with any skin type, though especially those with breakouts.

See you guys in my next post <3! x

My everyday makeup brushes!

L to R: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Front Cover All over Eye Brush, Beauty Strokes Airbrush Finish Stippling Brush & Elizabeth Arden Face Powder Brush (Large)

Hello lovelies
The brushes I have photographed above are ones I use on a daily basis to apply my makeup. The first brush you see on the left hand side, is the Real Techniques Expert Face brush by Samantha Chapman. This brush is excellent for applying foundation and blending it out over your face. It has a supersoft texture and an easy grip handle. So far I love this brush and I've only had it a few months. This has made my mind up about my next purchase from this brand!

The Front Cover eye brush, is one which I recieved as a gift in a kit from Boots. This brush has helped me as a beginner with eye shadow. It works perfect for applying eye shadow to the crease when you turn the brush on its side. It can also be used to do a full eye colour depending on the eye shadow consistency.

Recently I was looking for a stippling brush as I have seen many Youtubers and bloggers talking about how the stippling brushes provide an overall smooth finish. This brush is from TK Maxx I am unsure of places you can get this brush other than here. This brush lived up to my expectations of stippling brushes. I use this brush with my MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation, which helps me buff it into my skin perfectly and obtain a smooth finish.

My last brush that I use daily is the Elizabeth Arden Powder Brush. This brush was a bargain purchase at the price of £8 in a Boots offer. This brush is a little large for normal application of powder or brusher so I tend to use it if I am applying a finishing powder or Mineral Veil. It has a soft fluffy texture and is gentle on your skin during applications.

I wash all of my brushes using Johnstons Baby shampoo, and rinse them with lukewarm water. With these makeup brushes I tend to allow them to naturally dry. This is due to use of heat on the brushes resulting in the glue that holds bristles melting.

I'll see you all in my next blog, mwah! x

My Current Wish List

Doc Martens- Amazon Link

I have wanted a pair of Doc Martens for a few years now, and through buying lots of bits over the years I havent really had the money to buy them. I aim to purchase a pair this year and think the Cassidy boots will be my first choice. These boots steer away from the plain/patent black pairs that are in fashion and provide an edgy individual look. Now to save up the money!

Elf Blush & Bronzer Duo- St Lucia: ELF

After seeing various You-tubers talk about this product I decided I must get myself one of these. This product seems the ultimate drug-store bronzer duo and for £3.75 you can't really go wrong. As I have pale skin I would go for the St Lucia duo as the colours are not as dark as the duo pictured. I cant wait till I finally have the money to purchase more make
up and this will be on my to buy list!

Tartan Scarf- Miss Selfridge

Tartan has been a trend I have been loving this A/W season. Tartan provides an edgy look and breaks up a plain block colour outfit. This piece is something I would team with a causal jeans and top paired with some converse. This scarf is a heavy thick material and is sure to keep me warm in the coming Scottish weather!

Real Techniques Brushes-Buy these brushes here!

These brushes are on my birthday list this year! I have heard so much about these brushes and think it would be love at first sight. The buffing brush and the stippling brush are the two brushes I would like to purchase first and then I may dabble in buying the starter kit for your eyes.

Recent Drugstore Purchases ☮

Products I picked up on my visit to the shops recently!

Hi guys, I recently went to my local shopping centre and picked up a few bits that I spotted. First I went to boots when it was 3 for 2 on the make-up section and picked up Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and Scandal Eyes Mascara and got another Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer with the offer. I then on a separate trip to boots picked up the Loreal Superliner and Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara.

Two of these products: Wake Me Up foundation (Ivory 100) and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (Fair 1) are highly hyped on Youtube and various beauty hangouts.
I love the texture of the foundation and the healthy glow it gives my skin. The lasting power for this foundation isn't excellent as it tends to wear off my skin through out the day. I feel with this foundation a powder over the top dulls the glow effect this provides, which adds to the lasting problem. Retailing at between £7/£8 is an affordable price for foundation for me, although I cannot compare it to my MAC which has to be expected.

Secondly the Lasting Perfection Concealer has proved to be the must have for many beauty gurus and bloggers across the UK. This product is perfect for covering spots and dark circles. This product has a thick creamy consistency and is easily blended into the skin. This product if over applied can appear "cakey" under your eyes although thorough blending should ensure perfect coverage.

The Loreal Superliner in Carbon Black is slowly becoming my go-to eyeliner as it gives me a perfect line with little smudging using the precision brush. This eyeliner is my replacement for my Master Precise liner by Maybelline, as I appear to have lost it. Compared with the Master Precise liner I think the Superliner has a smoother line and longer lasting power. I apply this product over my ELF eyelid primer to make my eye look last as long as possible.

Both the mascaras I purchased are in the shade black, and have thick chunky wands. The Scandaleyes Mascara has an hourglass shaped wand, with thick dense bristles. This mascara ensures my lashes are clump free and is easy to apply. It does not provide any curl in my lashes although it appears to give them slight volume when given two coats.

The Collosal Mascara isn't my favourite of the two but I'll find a way to use it. This mascara has a very wet texture when applied and is easily smudged. It provides my lashes with a dramatic curl and is also easily applied. This mascara does not give my lashes volume and makes them appear clumpy. I love Maybelline mascaras but this particular one doesnt work for my lashes and seems to smudge alot under my eyes.
